We are proud to partner with Georgetown’s Institute for Transformational Leadership (ITL). The ITL develops and sustains worldwide communities of leaders and coaches dedicated to awakening, engaging, and supporting the leadership required in today’s world to create a more sustainable and compassionate future. Designed for leaders in the public and private sectors, executive and leadership coaches, and organizations and communities, the ITL offers certificate programs, skill-building workshops, training, and thought leadership on what it means to lead and coach in the context of the 21st century.
We are collaborating with the ITL on Woke: Journey to a New Normal in a Mixed Race World, a two-day workshop held on November 29-30 that will explore issues of race in small, mixed-race groups. The workshop is based on the New Normal framework, an experiential, personal exploration of race and its impact on our perspectives that aspires to change you.
Through the workshop, participants will aim to dismantle racism through noticing personal choice points and choosing to act on them in ways that promote mutual understanding, appreciation and respect.
Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to challenge their hidden assumptions around race; recognize differences between the everyday experiences for white and for black Americans; demonstrate the courage to stay curious instead of careful, say what they’re really thinking, and ask what they’re really wondering; and understand what’s acceptable for what it means to be themselves in racially mixed groups, both professionally and personally.
We’re proud to partner with organizations like ITL that bring innovative, inclusive programming to the Georgetown community.
