An experiential learning trip to Jakarta, Indonesia, from June 11-18, 2017

Meet Our #HoyasInJakarta:

The Baker Center for Leadership & Governance is excited to announce #HoyasInJakarta, an experiential learning trip to Jakarta, Indonesia, from June 11-18, 2017.

#HoyasInJakarta offers five undergraduate Georgetown students the unique opportunity to travel to Indonesia with fellow students from Harvard University, the University of Chicago, and BINUS University, our host in Jakarta. Together they will explore the challenge of “How do smart cities ensure they are inclusive?” from an on-the-ground perspective.

In Jakarta, students will meet visionary leaders from global businesses, government and international non-profit organizations including Unilever Indonesia, Habitat for Humanity Indonesia, IDC Indonesia, Jakarta Smart City and Arup. At the end of the four days they will present their solutions to a panel of local stakeholders. The trip will give #HoyasInJakarta the chance to:

  • Develop their skills and ability to work across cultures
  • Partner to identify new solutions to complex problems
  • Develop global contacts and networks
  • Build their resumes

Our #HoyasInJakarta will provide their friends and peers with an inside view into their travel and experiences. Students will produce articles, photos and/or videos for the Baker Center website, and share their experiences on social media. Be sure to check our Facebook and Twitter pages for updates.
